Volunteer

We could not do what we do without YOU!

Volunteers are the core of CAW's Saturday Art Workshops.

During our Saturday Art Workshops, volunteers work directly with children to create the art project of the day. Volunteers participate in all activities of the day from our warm-up circle, to helping a child bring their unique idea to life.

CAW staff will provide thorough training before each workshop so volunteers do not need to be artists or have any experience working with children. The staff also brings all of the necessary materials to the workshop. CAW is also always open to doing corporate or group service projects, and can manage the training of groups of up to 60 volunteers.

Unlike other programs, CAW does not have attendance requirements for volunteers. We do not require that volunteers make a time commitment to CAW. Some individuals may only choose to come to one workshop whereas others come every month.

The enthusiasm and support that a volunteer brings to a workshop will be cherished by a child whether that volunteer attends one workshop or all of them. In addition, our volunteers often leave feeling a sense of inspiration and delight that stays with them long after their experience and, often keeps them coming back for more.

Guest Artists

CAW is also always looking for Guest Artists who would like to develop a project and lead a Saturday Art Workshop. Small stipends are available for visual artists, photographers, dancers, actors, sculptors, etc. who wish to teach their skill to children and other volunteers. Please contact Phoebe Zinman, Program Director, at phoebe@caw4kids.org, for more information.
